ICT for refugees and Asylum seekers in UK

We sent 6 PC’s and 1 laptop to the Trinity Centre in September. They are a non-profit organisation based in Cardiff and they are running under the wing of the Methodist Church.

Their support services cater to a large and diverse community of refugees and asylum seekers who regularly access the centre for a range of services from English classes to food banks. They also run an advocacy clinic where they assist their clients with their asylum issues so computers are very essential to their centre.

They had extremely old computers with very old software as well. Before receiving computers from Computer Aid, they were not able to have an I.T suite anymore since their computers had become too unbearable to use.

Providing IT access to asylum seekers is extremely important to prepare them for their new life in the UK. It gives them better access to online English learning as well as CV writing and basic IT classes.
